Our head office is in the grounds of one of our summer campus sites, St Catherine’s College, which is one of the largest constituent colleges of the University of Oxford. St Catherine’s is also internationally famous for its Modernist architecture, which was designed by Arne Jacobsen.

Awards and accreditations

The high quality of the summer school experience we offer is attested to by a plethora of awards and accreditations from top bodies. In 2016, we were delighted to be awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise for a second time. We have also won best educational product at the British Youth Travel Awards for five of the last six years. We have received accreditations from the British Council for our EFL courses, from the British Accreditation Council for all aspects of the student experience that we offer, and from the Duke of Edinburgh scheme for the quality and safety of our extensive activities programme.

Teaching and learning

Offering high quality educational provision is at the core of all of our summer school courses. While we aim to create a fun, summer camp style experience for our students, this goes alongside outstanding teaching. Our approach is to replicate the lively, interactive teaching style of the tutorials and supervisions of the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, with students encouraged to share and debate their ideas in a collaborative and respectful manner. More information about our teaching philosophy can be found on our staff page.

Outside the classroom

Classroom teaching is only part of what is offered on an Oxford Royale Academy course. There is also a full programme of extracurricular activities, excursions and events such as glamorous parties. A typical stay with Oxford Royale Academy might include the chance to handle exotic animals, to learn tie-dye techniques, to play real tennis, to visit Shakespeare’s hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon, to visit London’s famous museums, and to attend parties at venues such as manor houses and luxury hotels.

A recipient of the highest accolade for British businesses

In 2012 and 2016 we won the Queen’s Enterprise Award, “the highest honour that can be bestowed on a UK company” — a testament to our uncompromising excellence.
